I can thank you and Dr. Baer for that, because you both are amazing people. I can only imagine how much it took to successfully integrate everyone. You\u2019re such an inspiration to a teenager who has suffered from depression. I wish you and Dr. Baer the best of luck in life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Alex<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Dear Alexandria,<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Thank you from me and Dr. Baer! \u00a0We truly appreciate hearing that you are looking forward to a college\u00a0career working in the field of psychology and that <\/span><em>Switching Time<\/em><span> inspired you. Though working to heal me was an enormous job for Dr. Baer, I believe\u00a0he was\u00a0given a once in a lifetime chance to make a difference to one person. \u00a0Saving someone like me\u00a0was a definite challenge, but I believe he&#8217;d say we both learned a lot from treating me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>I&#8217;m surely grateful for all that\u00a0Dr. Baer&#8217;s\u00a0done for me. \u00a0I can now live and breathe in a way that I never thought possible. \u00a0In order to successfully integrate each of my alters, we had to build from the ground up. \u00a0I felt torn down before gaining strength. \u00a0One at a time, each of my alters developed a relationship with Dr. Baer. \u00a0Building trust\u00a0was most important before revealing\u00a0ones past. \u00a0Dr. Baer and I worked well together because we both were loyal and respected each other. \u00a0Most interesting is that integration only\u00a0came after\u00a0my alters learned to trust Dr. Baer, too! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>I was very fortunate to land in the hands of Dr. Baer. \u00a0Finding the right therapist\u00a0is very important. \u00a0I&#8217;m glad to hear that more students are going into the field of psychology with determination to help people like me to live.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Thank you for all you kind thoughts and best wishes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Karen <\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comment by Alexandria\u00a0on 27 Aug 2009 at 12:02 am Karen, After reading Switching Time twice, the idea of working in the psychology field is so great, and I\u2019m looking forward to college.
