Switching Time is a great book! Unbelievable and fascinating at the same time. I am a student. I arrived home from a summer in England, actually read the UK version, A Life in Pieces, while there. When I arrived home I ordered the US version to save in my collection. I heard you are on Facebook as well as Richard Baer. That\u2019s so great! I may be adding the both of you to my fb friends list, I am thrilled that you lived through your ordeal. I would have died. No way could I survive such horror. I would love to meet you and Doc Baer some day. Cheers!<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s interesting to hear that you read our UK version of Switching Time<\/em>, which is the same book, with a different cover and entitled A Life in Pieces<\/em>. \u00a0I also enjoyed the switch in whose harrowing story it was! \u00a0The US version says ” A Doctor’s Harrowing Story…” while the UK version wrote “A Woman’s Harrowing Story …” \u00a0An interesting reverse of words, and I like that. \u00a0It was a harrowing story for both of us!<\/span><\/p>\n
Yes, Dr. Baer and Karen Overhill are on Facebook! \u00a0We would love to welcome all\u00a0those who wish to befriend us. \u00a0Just look us up and ask. \u00a0On Facebook, I have shared\u00a0pictures of the book covers\u00a0from the countries\u00a0where our story was published.<\/span><\/p>\n
I believe if I could survive what happened to me,\u00a0others can survive too, including you, with faith. \u00a0That’s one reason I share my story, in hope to help others understand what can happen to a child when abused. \u00a0I believe when a child is abused, she automatically switches into her own unique survivor mode. \u00a0Whether through dissociation, crying, screaming, fighting, running away, or simply becoming paralyzed with fear, whatever the abuse, each child will try their best to survive. \u00a0We all have a survivor instinct. \u00a0I believe that if you really deep down want to survive, you will.<\/span><\/p>\n
