Where is his practice located in Chicago? How do I make an appointment to see him? I was diagnosed six years ago and my therapist died four months ago. I am still mourning but wish to continue the process that he started. I don\u2019t like the replacement therapist. My deceased therapist was great like your doctor and I miss him so much. My therapy was working until his sudden death and now we are screwed. I have three alters left to integrate out of ten. If this happened to you what would you do? Please advise?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial;\">Thank you,<br \/>\nNot finished Mary<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\">Dear Mary,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\">I&#8217;m sorry that your therapist has passed on. <span>\u00a0<\/span>I can only imagine how devastated you must feel.\u00a0 How terrible to be in the middle of treatment and lose the only person who had been there for you in the way you needed most, your therapist.\u00a0 I am not a therapist myself\u00a0and can&#8217;t advise you.\u00a0\u00a0Please don&#8217;t give up on your therapy. <span>\u00a0<\/span>I\u00a0can understand how hard\u00a0it\u00a0might be\u00a0to learn to trust another therapist so soon after your loss. <span>\u00a0<\/span>I&#8217;m sure your\u00a0new therapist\u00a0will be just as concerned over your well being as your original therapist was. Please give your new therapist another chance. If, after awhile you don&#8217;t feel you can build trust with the new therapist, please seek help elsewhere. <span>\u00a0<\/span>What&#8217;s most important is talking with someone who is qualified\u00a0and to receive the appropriate\u00a0help you need to move forward.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\">I can feel your pain. <span>\u00a0<\/span>I&#8217;m not sure what would&#8217;ve happened to me if I lost Dr. Baer. <span>\u00a0<\/span>I can&#8217;t imagine having continued on. <span>\u00a0<\/span>However, as\u00a0hard as it is, please know that your therapist\u00a0would&#8217;ve wanted you to get well and survive.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Please think of all the hard work\u00a0you both accomplished\u00a0so far! <span>\u00a0<\/span>You have integrated seven alternate personalities! <span>\u00a0<\/span>You\u2019re almost there!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\">Unfortunately, Dr. Baer no longer treats patients. <span>\u00a0<\/span>I&#8217;m sorry about this. <span>\u00a0<\/span>I&#8217;m sure there are good therapists everywhere; find the right one for you. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\">I wish you a safe, continued journey and hope to hear from you again.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin:0;\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><span style=\"font-size:small;\">Karen<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comment by Not finished Mary on October 23, 2008 8:47 pm Hi Karen, Does Dr. Richard Baer still treat MPD patients?
